Grvt Burns 1.1 Million GRVT in First Buyback Ahead of Platform Update

Grvt has announced the completion of its first GRVT token buyback, with the Foundation’s token issuer purchasing and burning 1.1 million tokens. The discretionary transaction represents close to 1% of the token’s circulating supply.

The purchase was carried out on the open market, and the acquired tokens were subsequently burned. The announcement places the completed buyback ahead of a planned sequence of product milestones that will culminate in Grvt 2.0.

Grvt operates as a self-custodial trading platform built on its own zero-knowledge, or ZK, chain. The token transaction concerns GRVT, while the forthcoming milestones relate to the platform’s product plans.

Four product milestones are planned in the run-up to Grvt 2.0. The buyback and burn have already been completed, distinguishing the token action from the product developments that remain ahead.

Responsibility for executing the buyback sat with the Foundation’s token issuer. It acquired the 1.1 million GRVT through the market before burning that quantity, rather than retaining the purchased tokens.

The size of the transaction was expressed in relation to circulating supply: the discretionary buyback covered close to 1% of that total. The 1.1 million figure refers to the number of GRVT tokens purchased and burned.

The announcement therefore brings together a completed token buyback and a forthcoming product sequence. The first buyback precedes all four planned milestones, with Grvt 2.0 positioned as their culmination.

For the self-custodial platform, the immediate announcement is the completed purchase and burn; the next planned stages concern the four product milestones leading to Grvt 2.0.
